Coronation celebration event on Town Street in Horsforth

Horsforth Coronation Celebration, Saturday 6 May:

Horsforth Town Council in collaboration with the Horsforth Town Team proudly brought you the Coronation Event for Horsforth, to mark the investiture of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Horsforth Town Council provided funding to contribute generously to our shared event.

A big “THANK YOU” to our two incredible Horsforth Town Clerks, Becky Crabtree and Steph White for your key contributions to the Horsforth Coronation Celebratory Event.

Wow Horsforth - you out-did yourselves!

I am immensely proud as Chair of Horsforth Town Council of what the people of Horsforth can collectively achieve for Horsforth, when our community members rally and cooperatively work together.

We definitely looked the part with our festive Union Jack bunting in our three shopping communities, provided in partnership by Horsforth Town Council and the Horsforth Town Team. Well done to all the businesses for your amazing and creative coronation window displays.

Horsforth Town Council were delighted to organise the community competitions and the celebratory parade, ensuring that the focus of the day remained on the Coronation itself.

Horsforth Town Council would like to thank the following people for their kind, community spirited support:

To those Councillors who acted on behalf of the Horsforth Town Council who helped to plan, organize and give of their time voluntarily on the day of our coronation event.

Paul and his team at Keith James Menswear for sponsoring our three Coronation banners, to the Deputy Lord Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Boardman and his partner Ms. Julia Moss who proudly represented King Charles III on the day – including a direct message from King Charles III during our official opening ceremony on the main stage, to Commander Richard Lyon, Laura O’Sullivan and their amazing OC 2527 Squadron RAF Air Cadets and band members, to Group Scout Leader Etty O’Toole and her 7th Airedale - St. Margaret’s Scouts, to Group Leader Simon Croft and his 9th Airedale – St. Margaret’s Scouts, to St. Margaret’s Group Leaders and their wonderful Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, to Alan Radford – the piper and of course to our new Horsforth Town Council mascot Henry the Horse – also known as Cllr Reiss Capitano who was expertly chauffeur driven by Cllr Katharine Firth, our Horsforth Town Council Lead on the Annual (Coronation) Event Development Group.
